Hi, I’m Jiří.
I’m a senior software engineer and app builder from Czechia with 17+ years on Apple platforms and hands-on work on 30+ production codebases — from startup MVPs to large banking apps, plus a few indie apps of my own.
iOS is where I have the deepest expertise, with macOS close behind. Over the years I’ve also done FinTech, HealthTech, Bluetooth/IoT and plenty of other things around actually shipping software.
What I care about
- Building actual products. I don’t want to just implement the next Jira ticket. I want to know why we’re building it, whether users will understand it, and whether there’s a simpler way.
- Pragmatic engineering. Architecture should make change easier, not become the hardest thing to understand. :)
- AI-assisted development. Claude Code, Codex and coding agents are part of my everyday workflow. AI is leverage, not magic — somebody still has to recognise bad output and make the important decisions.
- Automating boring stuff. If I have to do the same thing several times, I’ll probably end up writing a script for it.
My own apps
Building my own apps taught me more about product development than any client project. Onboarding, monetisation, analytics, ASO — when it’s your own product, there’s nobody else to blame. :)
